Trust

Photobucket
Since my friends out here found out that I'm back, they've been hitting me left and right with new shoes for cheap or for trade. We all have shoes we have to keep and shoes that we are willing to trade. Ever since I went through extensive training with Nike, I've been looking at shoes differently. I'm more about the technology of a shoe nowadays. I mean, I have my classic originals put up, but as of late, I've been more about a huge air bubble with flywire on a mid top basketball shoe.

When I first seen this picture when my good friend, Dion, mms'd me from Oakland. I quickly did my research. My first question was, "Those ain't no dupes right?" lol. He said, "nah, I got these at Foot Locker, they brand new." He told me how he wanted a certain pair of kicks that I wore once to Sabor in San Jose, but didn't get in and went back home to change my whole fit. (I thought for sure I was gonna get in) He don't care that I wore em once. He said, "what I call used is still brand new." (I had to laugh at that) But anyways, I mms'd him a picture of the shoes and surprised him with a matching jacket right after. He text me back, "hell yea, come through on Wednesday." He also said that he was just gonna cash me out for the coat and trade for these brand new Lebrons.

The thing is, we both know if we really wanted an item, that we really didn't feel was a keeper, we'd just give them away to each other. But this deal is awesome. We both know where the shoes came from. We both know how many times we wore them. We both know where we wore them. Shit, I was just gonna give him the jacket, and I'll probably just spend what he gives me on dinner for us at The Cheesecake Factory bar in SF no homo. (my favorite restaurant as an experience) Plus, I haven't been in the Bay for about, four months. So, I must say, I'm quite excited.

I just wanted to share the details of a good trade with all of you. I do this all the time. It's all about trust. Without trust, you ain't getting shit from me. Plus, let me point out, these may be a nice pair of expensive kicks and all that, but since Nike keeps coming out with a million different colorways once the shoe is presented, it takes away from the, "special feeling." Like, I remember when having a certain color was the key to a win. (or a lose) I wish Nike just came out with 3 different colorways and spread out the release dates when a new shoe comes out. They'd probably get more business... from me at least. Peace

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Photobucket

I haven't felt compelled to actually go to a theatre and watch a specific movie since, "New York, I Love You." I know I know, it's been a while. I feel like an alien. But every night I watch the late show with David Letterman and tonight Michael Douglas was a guest. It made me take a double look at the screen (because my laptop is always open) when Dave brought up he had cancer and that it was in stage four. (Cancer isn't good at all, but level one is where you want to be) Michael Douglas was always a great actor to me. Grew up watching him. He spoke on how he found out the same day he was a guest on Letterman. He said he wishes he didn't find out during a movie opening.

I absolutely love the, "Gordon Gecko" character. It's hard for me to look up to people whether it's fictional or non-fictional. Wall Street (1) even had me at the gym playing racquetball. A true power character being played while having cancer and not even knowing it. It's in his neck from smoking and drinking too much. I can't wait to see this movie. Because, it's like, two rolls being played at once...

I love TOKiMONSTA

Photobucket
I love Tokimonsta. A good friend of mine put me up on her. The particular piece presented to me sounded like a raging takeover beat (http://eliteislander.blogspot.com/2010/02/blog-post.html) so I automatically assumed it was a dude that made it. But when I searched for her on facebook, I noticed it was a chick and I instantly fell in love. Check out some of her latest. I can listen to this all day... Like I did, today.
